Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, who plays for English Premier League club Liverpool, has extended his contract with the club for two more years. With Salah’s current contract with Liverpool set to expire at the end of this season, rumors of his departure had intensified. Recently, Salah himself had raised questions about whether he would be seen at Liverpool next season. The 32-year-old Salah signed a new two-year agreement with Liverpool today, having scored 32 goals for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
Since joining Liverpool from Italian club Roma in 2017, Salah has scored 243 goals and provided 109 assists in 393 appearances for the team. After signing the new agreement with Liverpool, Salah said he was happy to extend his stay at the club. “I’m very happy to extend my time with Liverpool for more years. I hope to win more trophies with this strong team,” Salah said.
“I’ve spent eight years at Liverpool, and I’m happy to have the opportunity to stay for two more years. I consider these the most successful years of my career,” Salah added. While Liverpool has renewed Salah’s contract, defender Van Dijk has said that both parties are working on renewing his contract as well. However, there has been no comment from either Liverpool or the player regarding defender Alexander-Arnold’s contract. According to media reports, Arnold is expected to be seen at Spain’s Real Madrid in the upcoming season.
