Russia has once again launched a powerful attack on Ukraine using hundreds of drones and missiles. This attack is one of the longest-lasting since the war between Russia and Ukraine began in 2022. The attacks, which started in the early hours, lasted for approximatelyd for approximately seven hours. During the Russian assault, neighboring Poland also closed its airspace and kept its air force on alert until the attacks ceased, preparing for potential risks. The Ukrainian military stated that Russia targeted Kyiv, the capital, and other regions with 595 drones and 48 missiles. They claim their air defense systems successfully shot down 568 drones and 43 missiles, with the attacks primarily focused on Kyiv.

The Russian attacks resulted in 83 injuries and four deaths. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attack damaged a heart disease clinic, factories, and residential buildings. The Russian Defense Ministry has also confirmed launching powerful attacks on Ukraine, claiming they targeted military installations. Russia continues to insist that it does not target civilians in its attacks on Ukraine. However, Ukraine reports that thousands have died and significant damage has been inflicted on civilian areas in Russian attacks.

Zelenskyy has called on countries to stop trading with Russia in the energy sector to reduce its income from this field. He stated that Russia is using money from the energy sector to fund the war against Ukraine. Ukraine continues to urge US President Donald Trump to take strict measures against Russia, though no such action has been taken so far. Zelenskyy said they need cooperation from the US, UK, G7, and G20 countries in working against Russia.

The intense Russian attacks have weakened Ukraine’s air defense system. The country continues to seek assistance from other nations in defending its airspace. Zelenskyy has announced that they will soon receive an additional air defense system from Israel, which is currently launching attacks on Gaza. The country also states that they will receive two more such systems by the end of November.
