The road construction project in Th. Veymandoo has been handed over to the Road Development Corporation (RDC). The project was assigned to RDC during a meeting held with the residents of Veymandoo as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s ongoing tour of Thaa Atoll islands. The agreement for the Veymandoo road construction project was signed by the Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdullah Muttalib, on behalf of the ministry. Ibrahim Nazeem, the Managing Director of RDC, signed on behalf of the corporation.

The government has been entrusting RDC with the task of modernizing roads in various islands across the Maldives. The government has stated that the roads will be developed according to the needs of the island’s residents. When upgrading island roads to modern standards, priority is given to developing roads where key institutions are located and those that are severely damaged. During road development, infrastructure such as drainage systems are also established.

Upon completion of this project, the government believes that the residents of Veymandoo will have access to modern, high-quality roads for their use.
