According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, China has now become the second-largest source market for tourism to the Maldives. Data shows that as of the 2nd of this month, 26,108 tourists have arrived from China. Russia currently leads the market with 31,250 arrivals, while Italy holds the third position. It is noteworthy that China was the top source market for Maldives tourism last year as well.

So far this year, the Maldives has welcomed over 200,000 tourists in total. A new record was set last Sunday with a single-day arrival of 10,253 tourists. This year marks the fastest period in Maldivian history to reach the milestone of 200,000 tourist arrivals.
