The Ministry of Finance has announced an invitation for consultants to conduct a feasibility study for the Ras Malé Transport Master Plan. According to their announcement, the Ministry, at the request of the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development, is seeking consultancy services for the preparation and feasibility study of the Ras Malé Transport Master Plan project. Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open to all interested parties for this endeavor.

The Ministry of Finance further stated that the primary objective of this consultancy is to formulate a comprehensive transport master plan for Ras Malé. This master plan aims to establish a safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation system both between the capital city and Ras Malé, and within Ras Malé itself. Interested parties are advised to submit documentation demonstrating their qualifications and capability to undertake this work. The selection of the consultant will be based on the Quality and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) method, in accordance with the Public Finance Regulations. Shortlisted parties from the Expressions of Interest will be invited to submit detailed proposals.

The deadline for interested parties to submit their Expressions of Interest for the Ras Malé Transport Master Plan feasibility study is 14:00 on the 24th of this month. Ras Malé is a significant project initiated by His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to address the housing challenges faced in the Malé region. The government aims to complete the land reclamation work for this project by March next year. Currently, land reclamation is being accelerated threefold by utilizing three dredgers. The government plans to develop Ras Malé as an eco-city, emphasizing environmental sustainability.
