The Government has decided to redevelop the row of Atoll Stores in Male’s commercial bazaar district into a modern complex, ensuring that its historical and cultural architectural features are meticulously preserved. The primary objective of this project is to transform the area into a central business hub, thereby enhancing the economic benefits derived by the respective atolls.
Set to be opened for investor participation by mid-year, the project involves the construction of a multi-storey facility that retains the original building’s exterior facades. This initiative aims to alleviate congestion within the bazaar area and create new economic opportunities. Furthermore, it will establish a streamlined mechanism to ensure that the atolls receive their rightful revenue regularly, while significantly strengthening the administrative management of these properties.
