The project to modernize the roads of AA. Rasdhoo has been entrusted to the Road Development Corporation (RDC). The agreement to hand over this project to RDC was signed during a meeting held when President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu visited the island to meet with the residents. The agreement related to the development of Rasdhoo’s roads was signed by Minister Dr. Abdullah Muttalib on behalf of the Ministry of Construction, and Ibrahim Nazeem, the Managing Director of RDC, on behalf of the corporation.
The work to modernize roads in various islands across the Maldives is ongoing. The President stated that no island would be forced to develop their roads by laying tar. Instead, he mentioned that some councils of islands where local tourism is conducted have proposed to keep sand roads while requesting vehicles to solve issues like flooding and equipment for road maintenance. Therefore, the President has said that the government will provide such resources to solve problems as per the residents’ wishes.
