Vice President Al-Usthaz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has emphasized that securing public confidence in the government is essential for the successful implementation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policies aimed at advancing the fisheries industry. Speaking at the ceremony to mark the commencement of practical work on the fish canning factory in GDh. Fiyoari, the Vice President stated that diversifying the economy beyond its sole reliance on tourism and expanding the fisheries sector remains a primary objective of the President.
He further noted that although the economic situation was significantly dire when the current administration took office, the President accords a high priority to fulfilling the pledges made to the citizens. Additionally, the Vice President highlighted ongoing government efforts to integrate youth into the fisheries industry and to ensure job security within the sector.
