PSG’s coach Luis Enrique has stated that his team doesn’t deserve the UEFA Super Cup championship. PSG won the tournament by scoring two goals in the final moments to equalize 2-2 and then winning 4-3 on penalties. Speaking to journalists after the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique said that based on the performance seen in this match, PSG doesn’t deserve the championship. “Everyone can see the difference between the two teams in this match. To be honest, this trophy is not one we deserve,” said Luis Enrique, who also led PSG to Champions League victory.
“We saw the difference between Tottenham after six weeks of training and PSG after six days of training. We tried to play our game for 80 minutes,” Enrique added. He further stated that the only reason his team won was because of their efforts to win until the last moment of the match. Tottenham Hotspur’s coach Thomas Frank said that although they lost this match, he is proud of the performance shown by his team’s players.
“Although we lost this match, I’m proud of the performance shown by the players. They have played an excellent game against one of the best teams in the world right now,” Thomas Frank said.
