In the first leg of the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, Europe’s most prestigious club football tournament, PSG has won against Arsenal with a score of 1-0 last night.
In the match played at the Emirates Stadium in London last night, PSG scored a goal in the fourth minute to take the lead. The goal for PSG was scored by Ousmane Dembélé from a pass by Kvicha Kvaratskhelia. This is Dembélé’s eighth goal in the Champions League this season. PSG played excellently in the first half of the match, sending many dangerous attacks towards Arsenal’s goal. In one such instance, a dangerous attack by the team’s young player Disasi Doye was saved by Arsenal’s keeper David Raya.
PSG’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has played an important role in bringing PSG to the semi-finals of this tournament, has defended many attacks from Arsenal in this match. Notably, he saved attacks from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Donnarumma had also played well in PSG’s matches against Liverpool and Aston Villa. In this match, when Arsenal got a free kick, Declan Rice took it, and Mikel Merino headed it towards the goal, but the referee ruled it as an offside goal.
In the second half of the match, although PSG had good opportunities to extend their lead, substitute player Bradley Barcola’s dangerous attack went just wide of the post, while Gonçalo Ramos’s attack hit the post and went out. As PSG works towards winning the Champions League for the first time, the second encounter between these two teams will be held next week at PSG’s home ground in Paris, France.
