President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for making Eid a blessed celebration that leaves joyful memories in hearts and to foster social spirit and unity during the blessed season of Eid. In his Eid greetings message, the President appealed to make the elderly parents happy, maintain neighborly relations, further strengthen kinship and friendship, and provide good examples and advice to children.
“We should prioritize fostering social spirit and unity in every such blessed season,” the President said in his message while in Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage of Hajj. The President said that Eid al-Adha has been a shower of blessings and grace for Maldivians since ancient times. “My prayer is that the rewards of these blessed days of the month of Hajj be bestowed in the most perfect way, and may Allah increase His kindness and mercy upon the Maldivian nation and all Muslims.”
The President said that Allah has revealed that the best nation raised for mankind is the Islamic Ummah, and that the status of this Ummah is elevated in the presence of Allah because Muslims are people who hold fast to good deeds, advise others, and set examples. And because Muslims strive to stay away from every evil, he said.
According to the President, the most beautiful trait seen in Islamic societies along with the joy of Eid is when everyone gathers in beautiful clothes and fragrances, praying equally without discrimination, being grateful for blessings, and greeting each other with smiles and kindness. He said that the Prophet Muhammad described the close relationship formed by caring for and helping each other as a strong building. He also said that in every Eid, Muslims renew their memories, and especially for the people of Palestine, Maldivians express their heartfelt affection with tears and good prayers.
“May Allah bless the jihad of the Muslims of Palestine in protection of the holy mosque of Muslims and in the right of that blessed land. May Allah grant aid, sustenance, peace, and security to those beloved families who are connected to our blood and pulse.”
