President Dr. Muizzu has sent his condolences to the family of the famous singer Muhammad Majid (Mezzo Mode) following his passing. In a post on “X”, President Dr. Muizzu said that he extends his condolences to the family of the late Mezzo Mode, who served the arts and entertainment industry for more than 45 years and also demonstrated admirable skill in creating some original Maldivian artistic works.
“May Allah’s mercy and forgiveness be upon the late Muhammad Majid, and may he rest in the eternal bliss of Paradise. Ameen,” the President said. Mezzo Mode, 59, the father of famous female singer Meera Muhammad Majid, passed away this evening while receiving treatment at IGMH after his condition deteriorated. It is understood that he died of a heart attack. Many musicians have been sending condolences to his family following the death of Mezzo Mode, who had presented many original songs. Mezzo had served the music industry for more than 45 years.
In recognition of that service, Mezzo Mode received the National Award of Recognition in 2010. Among the songs sung by Mezzo Mode, his original compositions became the most famous. Some of his most popular songs include “Visna Visna”, “Kamana Gothi Aadhanuthaa”, “Akiri Dhemey”, “Visna Visna”, “Udhun Tharithai”, “Dhaanehey Tihandhaanfilaa”, “Elhimikandu Mathi” and others.
Mezzo Mode was a legend in the Maldivian music industry. He worked with many bands and also released numerous albums.
