The Presidential Address, delivered by the President at the first sitting of the first session of the People’s Majlis each year, is a significant statement outlining the state of the nation and the government’s vision for the year ahead. This is a longstanding tradition that dates back 93 years to 1932, when Al-Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddeen III initiated it under the title “Khutbatul-Arshi.” The address primarily focuses on national sovereignty, future development, and the government’s strategic plans for the welfare of the citizens.

As many anticipate President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s third Presidential Address today, it is noted that his addresses over the past two years have been hopeful and centered on the nation’s independence and progress. With the objectives of those previous addresses being realized, today’s speech is expected to reveal new initiatives planned by the government for the advancement of the people.
