President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that a football field and a volleyball court will be constructed in Sh. Noomaraa next year. The President made this statement during his speech while meeting with the residents of Noomaraa as part of his ongoing tour of Shaviyani Atoll. The President said that he will include in next year’s budget the fulfillment of the needs of Noomaraa’s youth and sports enthusiasts. As such, he mentioned that new projects for Noomaraa in the field of sports will be included among the new projects to be initiated next year.
“Among the new projects to be included in next year’s budget, we will include the construction of a modern, high-quality football field and additionally, a volleyball court in this island,” the President said. As work on preparing the state budget for next year progresses, the President has stated that the funds require required for the Noomaraa volleyball court and football field will be included. It’s worth noting that the football fields constructed by this government are developed to modern standards with lights installed for day and night play. The main purpose of establishing football fields, volleyball courts, and facilities for other sports in the islands is to decentralize sports and produce top athletes from all regions.
It is noteworthy that this government places great importance on establishing facilities for the most popular sports among the residents of the islands. As such, during the meetings held with residents and council meetings as part of the President’s trips to the islands, the government prioritizes fulfilling the requests put forward by the people.
