President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that a party will be contracted to build a handball court in F. Nilandhoo in the near future. Speaking at a meeting with the residents of Nilandhoo during his ongoing trip to F. Atoll, the President said that every project is one that will be given high priority by whichever company it is assigned to. The President had previously stated that next year’s budget will include funds for handball court projects across the country, and that a major project will be carried out.

The President said that the project to build a handball court in Nilandhoo is something they are considering to move forward with, and that they have decided to contract a party to develop the area soon. The government’s aim is to run sports projects in all regions, establish sports infrastructure in all areas, and decentralize sports. Providing sports facilities as desired by the residents of each island for their well-being is something the President gives high priority to.

In addition to Nilandhoo, the government has contracted various companies to establish different sports facilities in other islands of F. Atoll. As such, it is a promise of this government to build a fitness and recreation center on every inhabited island within the next two years.
