President returns to Malé after concluding his trip to Alif Alif Atoll

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé today after concluding his trip to the inhabited islands of Alif Alif Atoll. During this presidential tour, he visited 8 inhabited islands of Alif Alif Atoll. The President visited Thoddoo, Rasdhoo, Ukulhas, Mathiveri, Bodufolhudhoo, Feridhoo, Maalhos, and Himandhoo, where he met with the island councils, Women’s Development Committees, and the public to discuss the development needs of the islands and matters related to the condition of the islands and their residents.

A delegation comprising some cabinet ministers and heads of state companies accompanied the President on this trip. The delegation provided up-to-date information on ongoing and planned projects for each island. During this trip, Bank of Maldives ATM services were introduced to all inhabited islands of Alif Alif Atoll. Additionally, the construction of police stations in Maalhos, Himandhoo, Feridhoo, and Thoddoo of the atoll was officially inaugurated.

Furthermore, during this trip, development projects targeting various sectors in different islands of the atoll were initiated, and project agreements were signed. The President also shared updates on the work scheduled for implementation in the islands for the current year 2025 and the upcoming year with the residents of these islands.

In his speeches during the meetings held on this trip, the President stated that Maafaru lagoon has been decided to be designated as part of Feridhoo, and that the airport being developed in Mathiveri will become an airport that will benefit the tourism sector of the entire country. The President also stated during this trip that the government will give high priority to protecting Madivaru Finolhu and developing it for use by the people of Rasdhoo. Additionally, the President officially inaugurated the “Thoddoo Masters Table Tennis Tournament,” which features players who have won national, regional, and international titles.

Visiting inhabited islands of the Maldives, listening to the concerns of the people, checking on their well-being, and working closely with the public is an important policy that the President places great emphasis on.
