For the first time, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the Police and Military under one roof. This meeting took place at a special ceremony held at the Social Center on the occasion of Independence Day. While this marks the first time President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with both the Police and Military together under one roof, previously he had met with these two institutions separately.
At the ceremony held for meeting with the Military and Police, both forces renewed their pledge separately. Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy renewed the pledge for the Military. And Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen renewed the pledge for the Police. At this ceremony, the President awarded special medals to 6 individuals. Additionally, 2 individuals from the Military were awarded long service medals, while 11 individuals from both the Military and Police were awarded medals for distinguished service.
The government has been working to develop the Maldives Police Service and the Military Service. In this regard, efforts are ongoing to provide necessary resources for the Military and Police, as well as to conduct training programs for personnel.
