
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the new Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM service in B. Goidhoo. This is the 41st island to receive ATM services under the ATM project. Establishing ATM services on all inhabited islands of the Maldives is a pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.zu. In line with the President’s promise, BML has begun work to establish ATM services on 100 new islands this year. During his trip to South Maalhosmadulu Atoll, the President visited Goidhoo and inaugurated the ATM service there. To launch the service, he withdrew money from the ATM.
After initiating the ATM service, a commemorative bank card was presented to the Island Council. The card was received by the Council President, Mohamed Shiyan, on behalf of the Goidhoo Council. BML states that the self-service ATM installed in Goidhoo will provide 24-hour cash withdrawal and deposit services for individuals and businesses, in addition to bill payment and transfer services. Furthermore, the bank says that credit card and loan payment services will also be available through this ATM.

Under the project jointly carried out by the government and BML to provide ATM services on all inhabited islands of the Maldives, ATM services have been launched on all inhabited islands of 6 atolls so far. These include Ha. Atoll, Sh. Atoll, D. Atoll, N. Atoll, M. Atoll, and K. Atoll. Additionally, with this new ATM, BML says there will be over 250 ATMs in their nationwide banking network.
BML stated that the government and BML have jointly initiated the work of establishing ATM services on islands with special emphasis to provide various banking services to citizens conveniently and accessibly.
