The President of the Republic, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has graced the closing ceremony of the “Dhiraagu Maldives Junior Open 2025” badminton tournament. At the ceremony held at the Badminton Hall in Sport Complex, the President watched the two final matches of the “Dhiraagu Maldives Junior Open 2025” badminton tournament. In the first of the two final matches, the “Male'” team competed against the “Eydhafushi” team, while the second match was between “Hulhudhoo Boy” and “India”.
At this ceremony, the President presented awards, commemorative certificates, and medals to the champions of this tournament. Additionally, there was a presentation of medals and trophies for the Women’s Special Olympics Singles Singles and Men’s Special Olympics. Furthermore, medals and trophies were also awarded to recognize the participants in the “Special Olympics Singles”. The government has initiated numerous projects to increase opportunities for Maldivians in the field of sports and fitness. In this regard, steps are being taken to host international tournaments in the Maldives and to ensure equality for everyone in the sports sector.
