
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed his deepest condolences following the passing of Aminath Hassan (popularly known as Ainthu Miss), who dedicated much of her life to teaching and promoting the Dhivehi language.
In a post shared on social media, the President extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family. He also shared his condolences with the academic community and those working in the fields of language and literature, acknowledging her significant lifelong contributions.
The President offered prayers for the deceased, seeking Almighty Allah’s boundless mercy and for her soul to be granted eternal rest in Jannah.
Aminath Hassan passed away at the age of 58 this morning at IGMH, while undergoing treatment for cancer.
With a distinguished career spanning 34 years in Dhivehi language education, she also served as a member of the Maldives Media Council and the Asset Recovery Commission.
Colleagues and acquaintances remember her as a kind-hearted person who maintained excellent relations with everyone. Language experts have also hailed her as an individual who possessed a profound love and passion for the Dhivehi language.
Her funeral prayer will be held today following the Asr prayer at the Hulhumalé Cemetery Mosque.
