President Assures Lhandu Residents of Many Projects Progressing This Year

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has given hope to the residents of N. Lhandu, stating that a large portion of the development promises made to the island will progress this year. He said this while addressing the people of Lhandu during a meeting. In his speech, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu mentioned that work has begun on fulfilling the promises made to Lhandu during the presidential election, and practical work has also commenced. One of these promises was to change the health center service in Lhandu to a 24-hour service, and the President noted that the process of acquiring resources and staff for this is underway.

Furthermore, the President assured that the practical work for the promised Fitness and Recreation Center in Lhandu has begun, and additional sports facilities will also be established, focusing on meeting the residents’ needs. “We promised to protect the eroding area and develop a beach area. Even though we haven’t assigned it to a party yet, in the coming days, meaning as we progress with assigning work in bat assigning work in batches, we’ve already assigned 6 batches of work. We’ll include these works in the 7th batch that starts. That means signing in September and practical work beginning in November. In other words, it will start this year,” said the President.

The President said that especially among women’s sports, the handball project will be implemented in many islands, and it will progress as a separate project in numerous islands.

Noting that work on the required school building is progressing, the President said that the government is fulfilling its responsibilities in this matter. He also mentioned plans to initiate a new project to increase additional space and resources needed for the school. This includes work on the staff room and other educational necessities, which the President assured would be completed. In his speech, the President mentioned that since work on an ice plant has begun and foreign funding approvals have been received, this work will also be completed before the end of this year. He also said that since the resources needed for establishing the water system have been brought to the island, this too will progress without much delay.

The President also stated that the government will pay close attention to the needs of Lhandu’s residents and carry out these matters very well. He concluded his speech by expressing his hope to visit Lhandu to mark the completion of these projects.
