The water scarcity for Palestinians living in the Israeli-occupied West Bank has significantly increased. Extremist Jewish settlers residing in the area have been targeting water supply routes to Palestinian residential areas in the West Bank. As a result, homes are left without water, and irrigation channels for farmlands have also been blocked. In Ramallah, located in the West Bank, public water taps have become the primary source of water for residents due to difficulties in accessing water. Some families reported that they receive water in their homes only two days a week. Consequently, they are forced to gather at public water taps to obtain water.
The UN has reported that during the first six months of this year, Jewish settlers have carried out 62 attacks targeting wells, pipes, and water distribution systems in the West Bank. Natural springs and water distribution centers providing clean, fresh water are also facing harassment from settlers. Jewish settlers are taking control of natural water springs in the West Bank and preventing Palestinians from using them.
