
Palestine has been accepted as an observer country of the International Labor Organization (ILO). This was passed through a vote held during the 113th International Labor Conference. Palestine received 386 votes in favor and 15 votes against. This vote is very important for Palestine. This is a very significant achievement for the international labor community in ensuring the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Maldives also participated in this vote. The Maldivian delegation has noted that it is a very happy occasion that the Maldives voted for this historic decision. Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, Minister of Higher Education, Vocational Training and Skills Development, is leading the Maldivian delegation at the 113th International Labor Conference. The Minister has met with members of the Palestinian delegation during this conference. He has stated that the Maldives always works for the rights of the beloved people of Palestine.
