According to statistics released by the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), more than MVR 107 million was collected as Zakat al-Mal in 2025. This reflects a 4.8% increase compared to the figures from 2024, with the highest collection recorded during the month of March. Following fluctuations in the global price of silver, the Nisab (minimum threshold) for Zakat al-Mal in the Maldives was revised to MVR 19,527.90 in December last year. Currently, MIRA provides convenient online services through its website, allowing individuals to calculate their Zakat obligations and make payments digitally.
