
Statistics from the Ministry of Tourism and Environment show that more than a million tourists have spent their holidays in resorts in the Maldives so far this year. A total of 1.3 million tourists have visited the Maldives this year to date.
According to the latest statistics from the Tourism Ministry, a total of 1,374,699 tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year. This is a 9% increase compared to the same period last year when 1,261,503 tourists visited.
Of the tourists who visite who visited the Maldives so far this year, 1,008,081 spent their holidays in resorts. Additionally, 300,763 tourists stayed in guesthouses, while 36,519 tourists spent their holidays in hotels. Furthermore, 28,354 tourists spent their holidays on safari vessels, according to the Tourism Ministry’s statistics.

China has been the top source market for tourists to the Maldives this year, with over 200,000 visitors so far.

Statistics show that an average of 6,137 tourists visit the Maldives daily. Last year, 2 million tourists visited the Maldives. The government aims to attract 2.3 million tourists before the end of this year. To achieve this goal, the government is working on further developing the tourism industry.
