
Immigration has given clearance to a cruise liner that arrived in the Maldives after making the longest journey so far. The cruise liner named “MSC Magnifica” arrived in the Maldives last Thursday. Immigration said the cruise liner arrived in the Maldives after departing fromting from Fremantle, Perth in Australia on the 27th of last month. This journey across the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean is the longest sea port journey for which Immigration has given clearance.
Immigration has given clearance to 2,818 tourists who traveled on MSC Magnifica. This includes 1,866 passengers and 952 crew members.
The Maldives has always been a popular destination among cruise lines. Many cruise liners visit the Maldives every year. This is the 8th cruise liner to arrive in the Maldives this year. While the Maldives’ popularity among cruise lines has increased, the government is working to develop special jetties for cruise liners in three regions of the Maldives. The government has also revealed that they are doing a lot of work in this sector.
As the Maldives’ popularity among cruise lines increases, there has also been a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting the Maldives. So far this year, more than 660,000 tourists have visited the Maldives. The government aims to bring 2.3 million tourists to the Maldives this year.
