Minister Adam Shareef Umar has announced that as of last night, 26,739 cases of canned tuna have been distributed in Malé alone, as part of the government’s Ramadan gift to every household. In the Greater Malé area, distribution is scheduled to continue nightly from 20:30 to 23:00 until the 11th of this month. Additionally, the canned tuna cases have already been dispatched to the majority of islands across the atolls.
Under this initiative, one case is allocated per electricity meter. The distribution process is being carried out through the joint efforts of local councils and the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). In Malé, residents are required to obtain a token via a dedicated portal to collect their cases.
