
The Maldives has welcomed more than 2.2 million tourists so far this year, marking an approximate 10% increase compared to the same period last year. According to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 2,213,795 tourists visited the Maldives as of the 27th of this month.
During this period, the highest number of arrivals originated from China, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Notably, the milestone of 2 million tourist arrivals was achieved on the 27th of last month. This represents a significant improvement over the previous year, when the 2-million mark was reached on December 26, nearly a month later than this year’s achievement. Currently, the Maldives sees an average daily influx of 6,466 tourists.
