More than 1,800 Hollywood artists have pledged not to work with Jewish film institutions. A pledge signed by a large number of artists, including film stars and producers, states that from October 7, 2023, they will not work with any film institution believed to be involved in the aggressive attacks that Jews are carrying out on Gaza in Palestine. In the attacks on Gaza by Jews, more than 64,000 people have been martyred so far, most of whom are innocent women and children. Jews have blocked access to food and aid supplies for Gaza’s residents, deliberately starving the people of Gaza. As nearly two years have passed since the aggression began, voices calling for boycotts of some companies due to their relationship with the Jewish government have now grown louder.
The artists’ pledge states that, inspired by the lessons and courage of Filmmakers United Against Apartheid, which worked against racial discrimination in South Africa, they have decided not to work with film companies associated with Jews. As Jews continue to violate human rights, artists have called for not working with parties associated with such actions. The pledge also states that Jewish film companies are working to portray the oppression of the Palestinian people as insignificant. Furthermore, the pledge highlights the ruling made by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) last year that Jews are seizing Palestinian lands in violation of international laws and regulations. It also highlights experts’ statements that the ongoing aggression in Gaza is an attack aimed at genocide. Among the famous artists who have signed the pledge are Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Tilda Swinton, Riz Ahmed, as well as Javier Bardem and Cynthia Nixon.
