
North Korea has once again unveiled a powerful intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The state media KCNA reported that this new ICBM developed by the North Korean military is the latest and most powerful missile the country has produced to date. The missile was showcased during a military parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the ruling Workers’ Party. North Korea has named this newly introduced missile Hwasong-20. KCNA described it as a dangerous weapon capable of striking targets or countries on another continent. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was present to observe the parade that displayed the new missiles and other weapons.
KCNA stated that the ICBM named Hwasong-20 is capable of carrying nuclear weapons. In addition to the new ICBM, the parade held in Pyongyang showcased the military’s most advanced modern weapons currently in use. These included long-range cruise missiles, military drones, and vehicles used to launch such drones. KCNA reported that Hwasong-20 is a solid-fuel missile. Its engine is made using carbon fiber and is capable of generating 1,971 kilonewtons of thrust, according to KCNA.
Western powers powers have also confirmed that North Korea has developed a powerful ICBM named Hwasong-20. Analysts believe it to be the most powerful ICBM currently available to the country’s military. They also expect North Korea to conduct further tests of Hwasong-20 before the end of this year to assess its performance.
