National Youth Conference Commences with 93 Participants

The National Youth Conference, bringing together young people from diverse sectors, has officially begun. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, Ibrahim Waheed, alongside senior officials from the Ministry and members of the Youth Advisory Board. The “National Youth Conference” is a collaborative initiative aimed at youth, jointly organized by the Presidential Youth Advisory Board and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts.

This two-day conference, being held at the Youth Hub in Malé, features the participation of 93 young individuals representing various fields. According to the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, the primary objective of this year’s conference is to identify and address the concerns of youth by formulating comprehensive solutions, and to establish a national youth policy.

Additionally, the Ministry stated that the conference also aims to gather insights and consultations from young people, and to foster their overall advancement. The conference agenda includes workshops structured around a total of six key themes. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to attend the closing ceremony of the conference.

This government is actively engaged in various initiatives to empower and advance youth. Notable efforts include organizing diverse skill-development programs for young people, arranging and hosting recreational activities specifically for youth, and establishing an environment conducive to physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Furthermore, “Zuvaanunge Vehi” (Youth House) has been inaugurated to provide youth counseling and well-being services under a single roof, addressing various issues faced by young individuals.
