On the occasion of National Day, the government has presented the National Honor Award to 3 individuals, and the National Encouragement Award to 9 individuals and a company. These awards were presented by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at the official ceremony held this morning in Ha. Utheemu to mark National Day. Among the three recipients of this year’s National Honor Award, one was awarded posthumously.

The National Award recipients were selected by the National Awards Committee appointed by the President. The National Honor Award consists of an honorary shield, a badge of honor, and a commemorative document presented by the President. The National Encouragement Award consists of a commemorative plaque and a commemorative document presented by the President. At the special ceremony on National Day, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu also bestowed a special honor for service to Maldivian nationalism to the people of Ha. Utheemu. Additionally, Adam Abdurrahman, who has provided valuable services to the Maldivian state for over 42 years, was awarded the Honor of Nishan Dhiyamigili by the President.
