The project to protect the beach of Nolhivaram in South Thiladhunmathi (Haa Dhaalu Atoll) has been awarded to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The agreement for this project was signed during a meeting held by the President with the people of Nolhivaram. On behalf of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, the agreement was signed by Minister Dr. Abdullah Muttalib. MTCC was represented by its Managing Director, Ahmed Saudi.
The Nolhivaram beach protection project includes the construction of a 779-meter rock revetment and a 164-meter rock groyne (4 Y-groynes). MTCC has been contracted to complete this project within 250 days for a sum of fifty-two million, nine hundred and fifty-five thousand, eight hundred and four rufiyaa and sixteen laari (MVR 52,955,804.16).
