MTCC Awarded Contract for Nolhivaramfaru Harbor Construction

The project for the construction of H.Dh. Nolhivaramfaru harbor has been awarded to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The agreement for this project was signed during a meeting held with the residents of Nolhivaramfaru, as part of the President’s ongoing tour of H.Dh. Atoll. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure by Minister Dr. Abdullah Muttalib. MTCC was represented by its Managing Director, Ahmed Saudi.

The Nolhivaramfaru harbor project will involve the construction of a harbor on the eastern side of the island. The scope of work includes dredging of the new harbor and channel, construction of a 362-meter breakwater using large rocks, a 238-meter revetment using large rocks, a 90-meter groyne using large rocks, and a 394-meter quay wall. Additionally, the project includes the installation of 12 mooring buoys, construction of a ramp, installation of 2 harbor lights and 14 streetlights, as well as laying 1,895 square meters of pavement.

MTCC has been contracted to complete this project within 540 days for a total of 85,444,168.60 Rufiyaa (Eighty-five million, four hundred forty-four thousand, one hundred sixty-eight Rufiyaa and sixty Laari).
