The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has published the identities of 25 individuals and entities that have failed to settle their Income Tax obligations for the year 2024.

According to the Authority, this list comprises taxpayers whose outstanding income tax liabilities exceed MVR 100,000.

MIRA stated that in accordance with the established policy for disclosing the names of non-compliant taxpayers, all individuals on the list were contacted via telephone and SMS prior to the publication. During these communications, they were informed of the legal penalties and enforcement actions mandated by law for failing to file tax returns and settle outstanding payments.

The Authority further emphasized that it will continue to implement its enforcement policy consistently and without discrimination to recover all taxes and other dues owed to the state.

Consequently, MIRA urges all taxpayers who have yet to file their tax returns or settle their outstanding dues to do so without further delay. Taxpayers are also encouraged to enter into installment agreements with the Authority to regularize their tax status.
