MIFCO releases 3.6 million rufiyaa to fishermen

MIFCO has released 3.6 million rufiyaa to fishermen. MIFCO said that payments for fish weighed at MIFCO centers from boats on the 25th of this month will be deposited between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM today. They also stated that other bank transfers will be cleared before 4:30 PM on the next day banking services are open. According to MIFCO, 43 fishing boats weighed fish on the 25th. They also said that a total of 3,674,365 rufiyaa has been paid to these boats.

MIFCO has revealed that they are paying for fish weighed at MIFCO within 48 hours, in line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s promise. Paying fishermen within 48 hours of weighing fish is a promise of this government. The current government is working to advance the fishing industry and arrange for fishermen to get fuel at STO rates. As such, in addition to the Hulhumalé Kanneli Jetty, they have started selling fuel at STO rates from K. Hinmafushi, Lh. Felivaru, GA. Kooddoo, and S. Hulhudhoo.
