The primary focus of the deliberations centered on identifying strategic avenues to broaden MIFCO’s commercial footprint in Japan and exploring how JETRO could facilitate this expansion.
Representing MIFCO at the meeting were Strategic Consultant Athif Shakoor and General Manager of Corporate Affairs Aminath Saniyya Shareef. The delegation was joined by the Deputy Ambassador of the Maldives to Japan, Ahmed Adil, and the Embassy’s Second Secretary, Hawwa Samha. According to MIFCO, these discussions are part of the company’s broader strategic initiative to strengthen the global presence of its products and diversify its international business operations.
MIFCO continues to proactively promote its products across various global markets, including through participation in prestigious international trade fairs. The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a government-affiliated body dedicated to fostering trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Established in 1958 with the initial goal of promoting Japanese exports, JETRO’s mission in the 21st century has evolved to focus on attracting foreign direct investment to Japan and assisting small to medium-sized enterprises in maximizing their global market potential.
