Tajikistan’s coach Goran Stevanovic has stated that while many of their players are injured ahead of today’s Asian Cup qualifier against the Maldives, the team maintains a winning spirit. As they prepare for this match, five key players of Tajikistan have been injured. These include first-choice goalkeeper Rust-choice goalkeeper Rustam Yatimov, captain Alisher Jalilov, experienced defender Vahdat Hananov, and young midfielder Amadoni Ka Kamolov, who plays in Iran. These two players will also not be seen in this match due to injuries. Additionally, another midfielder was hurt during training sessions.

“These boys are preparing for this match with great spirit. I can see it in their eyes. Many players are injured, but we will find a solution for that,” said the coach. The coach, who took charge of the team about a week ago, further commented on his first match, saying that he fully respects the Maldives. “We have a good squad available for this match. I trust all the players. I also respect the Maldives. We are not afraid of the Maldives. We are here to win this match and make our supporters happy. We need to play with discipline and focus throughout every minute of the match,” the coach stated.

This is the last match Tajikistan will play in their home country this year. Therefore, the coach said he hopes every supporter will come to the stadium to show their support. After this match at the Hisor Central Stadium, the two countries will meet again in Male on the 14th of this month.
