President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Ahmed Thoriq, has stated that the Maldives clinching the SAFF Futsal Championship 2026 is a direct result of the players’ exceptional talent and the management’s diligent efforts. He highlighted that securing the title with a match to spare solidifies the Maldives’ position as the premier nation in the region for the sport. Thoriq also commended the exemplary discipline and unity displayed by the players throughout the tournament. Furthermore, he assured that FAM remains committed to prioritizing the advancement of futsal by introducing new competitions, enhancing player development with the expertise of foreign coaches, and facilitating more international opportunities in the future.
