The Vice President has officially inaugurated the transition of Velana International Airport’s domestic operations to the former international terminal (Terminal 2). With this strategic relocation, the facility’s capacity has been significantly enhanced, increasing the number of check-in counters to 27 and adding more security screening machines and departure gates. The upgraded terminal features dedicated prayer rooms, a children’s play area, diverse food and beverage outlets, and two spacious baggage claim belts. This expansion aims to alleviate congestion within the domestic terminal and provide a more seamless and elevated service experience for passengers.
