
Maldivian has decided to host an evening event to celebrate the inauguration of the A330 model wide-body aircraft, capable of long-haul flights, which was recently added to its fleet.
According to the national airline, this event will be held today from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Hulhumale Central Park. The event will feature various sports activities at stalls run by Maldivian employees, along with prize-giving. The company also stated that there will be live performances and entertainment activities.
The Cabinet decided to bring wide-body aircraft to the national airline on December 17, 2023. On the 2nd of this month, an A330 model aircraft was registered in the Maldives for the first time. This aircraft landed at Velana International Airport on the 6th of this month, accompanied by an air show that Maldivian displayed to the public.
The new Airbus 330 brought by Maldivian includes 264 seats in three classes. This comprises 18 seats in Business Class, 36 seats in Premium Economy, and 210 seats in Economy Class. The flights of this aircraft are scheduled to begin on the 21st of this month, with the first flight destined for Chengdu, China.
