The Maldivian teams participating in the Hua Hin Sixes Cricket Tournament, scheduled to be held in Thailand from the 8th to the 13th of this month, have departed. Three teams from the Maldives will compete in this tournament. The Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) stated that 30 players from the Maldives will be competing in three categories at the Hua Hin Sixes Cricket Tournament. These categories are Masters, Veterans, and Super Veterans. The Maldivian teams departed for Thailand at some point tonight to participate in the tournament.
The Maldives has previously participated in this tournament three times. Last year, the Maldivian team achieved proud victories in this tournament. These include winning the championship in the Veterans category for over 50 years age group and securing the runner-up position in the Masters category.
In preparation for this tournament, Maldivian players began their training about six months ago. The members of the Senior Cricketers Club are representing the Maldives in this tournament. CBM informs that the team includes almost all former renowned players.
