In line with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s campaign promise, the national airline acquired a wide-body aircraft on January 6th of this year. The first wide-body aircraft introduced to Maldivian’s service is an Airbus A330-200 variant with a capacity of 264 passengers.

Currently, the wide-body aircraft is operating flights to three destinations in China: Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu. The airline is working on acquiring an additional aircraft this year. They are also making extensive efforts to expand their routes to more European destinations.
