Maldivian Government Condemns Israeli Minister’s Violation of Al-Aqsa Sanctity

The Maldivian government has strongly condemned the violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, by the Israeli National Security Minister who entered the mosque’s premises. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that this act by the Israeli National Security Minister is a violation of international laws and Islamic sacred sites, in addition to being another negative action in Israel’s repeated attempts to alter the religious and historical status of such places.

The statement reiterated the Maldivian government’s call for the international community to expedite necessary measures measures to compel Israel to immediately cease all illegal actions and violations of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites. The Maldivian government also reaffirmed its continued support for the efforts of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state.
