The Maldivian government has strongly condemned Israel’s decision to stop humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, Palestine. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on behalf of the Maldivian government, it was stated that this is an act that clearly violates the ceasefire agreement, international laws, and human rights. The Maldives has called on the international community to stop such major crimes committed by Israel, to hold accountable the mechanisms of international community accountability, and to provide safe, sustainable, and uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to all areas of Gaza.
The statement also said that the Maldives believes that a sustainable and just, peaceful solution to this conflict can only be achieved by establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 territories, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
