
The national airline, Maldivian, has signed an interline partnership agreement with Azerbaijan Airlines. Under this agreement, tourists arriving in the Maldives via Azerbaijan Airlines will have the opportunity to easily travel to 17 destinations within the Maldives operated by Maldivian. Maldivian also states that this agreement will alleviate some of the difficulties faced by tourists coming to the Maldives through Azerbaijan Airlines.
The Managing Director of Island Aviation, Ibrahim Iyasyas, said that one of the most important purposes of this agreement is to promote tourism in the Maldives and provide comfortable and convenient options for tourists visiting the country. The Chief Commercial Officer of Azerbaijan Airlines, Jamil, stated that this is something that will bring satisfaction to tourists coming to the Maldives through their airline. Azerbaijan Airlines is the national carrier of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan Airlines began its flights to the Maldives last November. The airline currently operates 2 flights per week to the Maldives.
