
The volume of exports from the Maldives increased by 222% last month.
According to statistics from the Maldives Customs Service, while exports in July last year were valued at 65 million rufiyaa, this July’s exports have increased to 210 million rufiyaa.
The data shows that in the first seven months of this year, exports from the Maldives have increased by 52% compared to the first seven months of last year. In the first seven months of 2024, the Maldives exported goods worth 945 million rufiyaa, while this year, the figure has risen to 1.4 billion rufiyaa.
Maldivian exports are mainly based on fish products. Over the past seven months, the most exported items were frozen and chilled tuna, and various fish products. The countries to which these products were most exported are Thailand (809.44 million rufiyaa) and the United Kingdom (252.46 million rufiyaa).
According to Customs statistics, the Maldives imported goods worth 4.5 billion rufiyaa in July.

Regarding state revenue from imports and exports, July’s revenue stood at 295 million rufiyaa. In July of last year, the state received 364 million rufiyaa from imports and exports.
