
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has arrived in Maalos as part of his ongoing part of his ongoing tour of South Maalhosmadulu Atoll (B. Atoll). This is the 13th island the President has visited during his tour of B. Atoll and marks the final destination of this trip. Upon arrival in Maalos, the President was warmly welcomed by the island’s residents. As part of this visit, the President is scheduled to meet with the Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee, and heads of various institutions on the island. Additionally, a meeting with the general public of Maalos is also planned.
During this visit to Maalos, the President is set to inaugurate the newly established ATM service of the Bank of Maldives. He will also participate in the foundation-laying ceremonies for a new mosque and a police station on the island. The President’s tour of B. Atoll, which runs from the 11th to the 14th of this month, has included visits to all 13 inhabited islands in the atoll. These islands are Kamadhoo, Kudarikilu, Kendhoo, Eydhafushi, Thulhaadhoo, Goidhoo, Fehendhoo, Fulhadhoo, Hithaadhoo, Kihaadhoo, Dhonfanu, Dharavandhoo, and Maalos.
Several cabinet ministers and senior officials from various government institutions are accompanying the President on this tour. These trips to the atolls by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu are aimed at personally assessing the conditions of the islands by visiting the people. Another objective of these tours is to meet with the island councils to discuss and gather ideas about ongoing development projects on the islands.
