The Iranian military has declared its resolve to protect the nation’s strategic interests, critical infrastructure, and public property.
In an official statement, the military highlighted that Zionist entities and terrorist organizations are attempting to compromise Iran’s public security. It further asserted that, in coordination with other security agencies, they are closely monitoring the movements of hostile elements within the country’s borders and will continue to maintain vigilance against such groups.
This announcement comes amidst widespread demonstrations across various regions of Iran, fueled by the rising cost of living and economic inflation. These protests have gained momentum following expressions of support from the United States. In a social media post, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that the United States stands ready to provide assistance to the Iranian people. This statement followed a prior warning from the President that the U.S. would intervene should the Iranian military resort to lethal force against the protesters.
The current wave of protests, which commenced last December, represents the most significant civil unrest in Iran since 2023, with observers noting that the movement continues to intensify daily. While the Iranian government initially appeared to respect the right to peaceful assembly, analysts suggest that authorities are now attempting to balance the preservation of national security with the management of these rights. Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, has characterized the participants of these demonstrations as individuals intent on destroying public property.
