Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has stated that while Iran does not want the ongoing intense confrontations with the terrorist state of Israel to spread to neighboring countries and escalate into a major regional conflict, Iran will not take a single step back in self-defense.
Araghchi said that Iran did not initiate the current confrontations, and if Israel stops attacking Iran, Iran will also stop its retaliatory attacks on Israel.
He described the Israeli forces’ attack on the South Pars gas field, which Iran operates jointly with Qatar, as an irresponsible and dangerous aggression.
“Expanding these confrontations to the Persian Gulf is a big mistake. It’s a step taken to take this conflict outside of Iran’s territory,” he said.
Araghchi stated that the terrorist state of Israel launched these attacks to obstruct the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States on reaching an agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
The sixth round of these negotiations, which began last February, was scheduled to be held in Oman today for Iran to present its proposals for a nuclear agreement. However, due to Israel’s attacks, this meeting has now been canceled.
He also rejected the U.S. claims of not having information about Israel’s attacks.
Araghchi said that Israel would not make such a decision without U.S. approval.
In retaliation for the attacks by Israeli forces on Iran, Iran has been continuously launching attacks targeting Zionist Israeli territories.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has stated that they have attacked fuel production centers for Israeli warplanes and energy supply routes using missiles and drones.
In a TV statement, IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeini said that as part of the ongoing military operations under ‘True Promise 3’ in response to Zionist Israel’s new aggressive attacks, numerous drones and missiles have been targeted at Israeli warplane fuel production facilities and energy supply centers.
He also said that if Israel does not stop attacking Iran, Iran will respond with even stronger and more extensive attacks.
